Downtown Skyline Tour – Experience New York’s Iconic Waterfront by Public Transport & Walking
Join me for an incredible 10-hour walking tour exploring New York’s breathtaking skyline and historic waterfront using public transportation and short walks. This tour is perfect for those who want to experience the city like a local while visiting some of its most iconic landmarks. With a maximum group size of 12 people, this small-group experience ensures a personal and engaging adventure. The tour is available in English and Hungarian.
Our journey begins in Battery Park, where we’ll take in stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York Harbor. I’ll share fascinating stories about the park’s history and its role as the gateway to Lady Liberty. Here, we’ll board the ferry to Liberty Island, where you’ll have the chance to see the Statue of Liberty up close and, if you choose, visit the pedestal (tickets required).
After exploring Liberty Island, we continue our journey to Ellis Island, home to the historic Immigration Museum. Here, you’ll learn about the experiences of the millions of immigrants who arrived in the U.S. through this very spot. If your ancestors came through Ellis Island, I can show you how to find their names in the records!
Once we return to Manhattan, we’ll head to South Street Seaport, a charming waterfront district with cobblestone streets, historic ships, and incredible views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan. This is the perfect spot to take photos, grab a coffee, and enjoy the atmosphere of old New York mixed with modern city life.
Throughout the tour, I’ll share historical insights, fun facts, and insider tips to help you fully appreciate the magic of New York’s waterfront. At the end of the tour, I’ll guide you back to your accommodation or help you navigate the subway so you can continue exploring on your own.
